Research shows that both men and women don’t like women that promote themselves. There is often backlash. There are also societal modesty norms that inhibit self-promotion. Yet people who don’t self-promote their achievements, get left behind their self-promoting peers.
#IamRemarkable is a Google initiative empowering women and other underrepresented groups to celebrate their achievements in the workplace and beyond. In the experiential workshop led by ShowMe50, certified #IamRemarkable facilitator, participants learn the research behind why it’s hard to self-promote and they practice doing it. Taking control of how we are perceived is powerful. Learning how to celebrate successes both professionally and personally is an essential skill for growth.
ShowMe50 runs #IamRemarkable workshops for individuals from different companies or on-site company-specific programs.
